چکیده
Abstract High-performance polymers (HPPs) are increasingly used in different industrial machinery components, particularly for rubbing parts that demand reliable and durable operation at extreme sliding conditions such as elevated temperature environments, where the use of conventional lubricants is not feasible. The current study investigates role environmental on tribological properties three advanced HPPs, namely aromatic thermosetting copolyester (ATSP), polyimide (PI), polyether ether ketone (PEEK) based polymer composites. Tribological experiments were carried out temperatures from room up to 300 °C, under dry conditions. Specific attention was given development transfer films its subsequent effect performance. ATSP composite recommended best performing material, overall performance all examined operating temperatures.

Proposal Performance Measurement of ATSP Coating and Bulk PEEK Faced Tilting - Pad Thrust Bearings
Background: Under severe operating conditions, such as lubricant contamination, elevated temperatures and high unit loads, the hydrodynamic (HD) lubrication condition in a HD bearing may degrade and be reduced to mixed and boundary lubrication conditions, which traditional pad bearing materials (Babbitt metal) are not able to sustain. For example, Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems are r...

Bi2Te3 thermoelectric materials are utilized for refrigeration for decades, while their application of energy harvesting requires stable thermoelectric and mechanical performances at elevated temperatures. This work reveals that a steady zT of ≈0.85 at 200 to 300 °C can be achieved by doping small amounts of copper iodide (CuI) in Bi2Te2.2Se0.8-silicon carbide (SiC) composites, where SiC nanodi...
